K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

For this week’s installment of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, K’lee chose the theme and he suggested; Mirror mirror.

I decided to go for an artistic twist, using two different types of kaleidoscopic optical devices to capture some spangly images.

The first one is a homemade version of the conventional kaleidoscope; a tube containing two angled mirrors, with a glass tube of glitter and foil shapes at the end of it, which produced these…

…and the second one is of a similar design, except it has a domed lens on the end, giving multiple, fish eyed images of whatever you point it at.

Here is what it looks like when you point it at cauliflower and carrots, ceramic tiles and an LED display.

You can check out K’lee’s post HERE.

Now let’s see what you reflected on over the weekend.

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Today’s bank holiday edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge should be child’s play, because I chose the theme of; Toys.

I thought it was only fitting that I got input from the person who the toys belonged to, so Audrey provided Instagram shots of some of the ones she found most photogenic, whereas I…well, I did some strange things with dolls’ heads.

You have been warned.

First, Audrey’s artistic interpretations, from small (and not so small) stuffed animals, to a Scooby Doo monster and some sort of hopping rabbit/chick hybrid.

And now my contribution. I started off with some dolls like these…

…then, as if dolls’ heads weren’t weird enough, I did this to them:

I hope that wasn’t too traumatic for you, check out something less unnerving from K’lee HERE.
But now it’s time for you to come out to play.

*****

As an extra holiday bonus for you, here’s the excellent movie, The Magic Toyshop.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Monday is with us again and so is K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, today brought to you by K’lee’s prompt; Foodie for a day.

K’lee wanted indoor food shots specifically and I’ve stuck to the brief almost perfectly.

I say almost perfectly, because the some of the food was cooked outside; Rhonda grilled some fantastic marinated pork belly strips on the barbeque yesterday evening…

…which were accompanied by another of her specialities, an oven baked foil parcel of sliced potato and onion with garlic and herbs…

…with green beans, baby corn and mushrooms, fried with bacon and parmesan.

Voilá.
Bon appetit.

Oh, and there were muffins for dessert.

For my own contribution to the challenge, I cooked up a work of art of a different sort; I used the corn we had for dinner, along with a tomato, a papaya and some broccoli…

…I made this fruit and veg masterpiece.

You can see K’lee’s yummy post HERE.

Now it’s your turn to give us something to get our teeth into.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Good morning, welcome to Monday!

Time for your weekly burst of photographic creativity, with K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge being brought to you by the theme of; Patterns in/from nature.

I chose, as usual, to muck about with my photos, using a picture of the bare oak tree behind our house to make an arboreal snowflake and a shot of a large pine tree to make…well, something else.

What do you think, cool huh?

You can see K’lee’s post HERE.

Now it’s your turn.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Hello there, fans of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge and newcomers alike, I hope you enjoyed the last ordinary weekend of the year. Now it’s time for another burst of Monday morning creativity, courtesy of K’lee’s prompt; Show us your Winter’s light.

I took my entries for the challenge on the journey home from work yesterday morning, in the hills above the A361 link road, which cuts through the countryside from the M5 motorway, on its way to Barnstaple and the rest of North Devon.

It was very foggy when I drove to the edge of Exmoor at 6 a.m. but the worst of it had lifted by the the time I returned around midday, leaving some nicely artistic mist to add atmosphere to the pictures. See what you think…

You can see K’lee’s post HERE, but let’s see what you have to offer first; over to you…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Good morning and welcome to this week’s first post.

Yes, K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge is here and the theme was set by me on Friday when I gave you the prompt; When Night turns to Day, the exact opposite of K’lee’s prompt from last week.

Well, I was working overtime yesterday and was therefore up at the highly unsociable hour of five o’clock in the morning, so I took the opportunity to snap a few shots before I started work and a few more just after the misty dawn broke.

Here are the results; one, the other and both at once…

A link to K’lee’s photo is HERE, but now let’s see your offerings for the day…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

It’s time once again to fire up your imaginations and get creative for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today revolves around a theme of my choice.

I specifically asked you to use some form of post-production effects for this week’s challenge, because that is what we like here and I’ve noticed that some of you shy away from using all but the most basic adjustments to your original photos.

Plus, I have a guest contributor this week, so I also wanted to be able to crowbar his pictures in.

I’ve gone for some more abstract images, produced using photos of industrial components as the source material.

The next selection are from my old friend and esteemed blog artist-in-residence, Ho, who sent me these colourful and artistic contributions last week.

So, there you have it.

KG left us this.

Lady Lee Manila offers these for your perusal.

And K’lee’s photo is HERE, for your viewing pleasure.
Now, show us the fruits of your creative labours…
