The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week on The Cosmic Photo Challenge I asked you to illustrate the prompt; Choose your masks.

Chosen partly because masks are very topical right now, partly because I was staring at a mask on the wall while I was thinking up the prompt, partly because I’d just ordered a very funky LED face mask for Audrey’s birthday and partly so I could crowbar in a great bit of psychedelic space rock at the end of this post, it resulted in the following photographic offerings.

One of my collection of face coverings inspired a few images…

…while Audrey and her birthday present provided the terpsichorean illumination with which to do some light painting.

And to play us out, as promised, here’s Hawkwind with “Choose Your Masques”

Now let’s take a peek behind your mask…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

We had a little confusion over the prompt at the weekend, but we eventually provided you with two options for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge this week; Playing with light or The coming of winter/Winter’s breath.

I initially thought I’d go with some low winter sunshine…

…but when I got home, Rhonda and Audrey were decorating our newly-erected Christmas tree, so I decided to take inspiration from that and do some long exposure mucking about.

*edit: I could hardly let this evening’s spectacular sunset go by without capturing it for the challenge, too.

K’lee is HERE, getting all seasonal and glittery for you on the other side of the Atlantic.

But now you get to show us the light of your creativity.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I was in control of the theme for this week’s prompt on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge and I chose to go with a playful little idea; Toys.

Knowing I had Audrey’s huge collection of toys, dolls and stuffed animals to work with, I waiting until she was at Gang Show rehearsal yesterday and set up a makeshift darkroom in her bedroom, where I conducted a few light painting experiments with flashing lights, glowing cubes and an LED fidget spinner.

See what K’lee has been playing with HERE.

Now you can have a rummage in the toy box and play along..

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

When K’lee set the theme for today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I thought I was going to be a bit stumped, because he gave us the prompt; Get your motors running; Cool cars that caught your eye.

Now I’m not really a car person, so it left me at a loss for inspiration, so I cheated.

I used cars you can’t see.

I have done experiments with cars and light painting before, but this time I’ve added a little movement to the process.

I went out and took a few long exposure shots of passing traffic; some from parked at the side of the road, some from looking down on the lights, standing on a bridge and a couple with the camera lying on the dashboard as I drove home.

I also made a little gif to show the creative process in action.

K’lee will speed his pictures to you HERE, later.

Now you can show us what you’ve got to offer…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

It’s Monday and once again it’s time to get creative with your imagery for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today is K’lee’s challenge and he chose the theme of the elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

I decided to go fully interpretive and enlisted Audrey to assist me in a spot of light painting, as it was popular when we had a go at Christmas.

K’lee has his own take and you can see it HERE.

But now let’s see what you made of the prompt…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Yes, ok, I forgot, sorry.

But it’s all over now, (Christmas, that is) so I’m back to curate K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, the festive edition.

I thought I’d go with some abstract patterns, instead of straightforward Christmas pictures, because Audrey got a couple of brightly lit gadgets from Santa; an illuminated fidget spinner and a colour-changing wand…

…so we did some light painting.

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, you can see what K’lee came up with HERE.

Now, should you have the time, show us your crimbo photos.
