Last week one of my all-time favourite bands was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; techno pioneers and all round godfathers of electronic music, Kraftwerk.
In 1977, the Dusseldorf based, musical cycling addicts and transportation nerds released the hugely influential and groundbreaking Trans Europe Express. Much of the album features rhythmic motifs derived from the sound of trains clattering over rail tracks, producing an irresistible beat and perfectly matching their “motorik” sound.
So, by way of an homage to their recent elevation to Rock Gods status, I have created a completely original tribute of my own, cheekily entitled Trans Asia Express, which you can sample and/or purchase using the player link below.
All aboard!

For this week’s mission on The Cosmic Photo Challenge I asked you to capture some arcane architecture for the prompt; Buildings of the past.
I admit to having cheated slightly, already knowing that I would have a chance to see some old buildings on a short visit to Exeter during the week. These were all taken around and about the imposing cathedral in the city centre.

Now let’s see the historical constructions in your locations.

For this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I’ve chosen to get all architectural on you, by giving you the prompt; Buildings of the past.
So let’s see what the oldest and/or most historic constructions look like round your way, we’ll compare and contrast in Mondays show and tell.
Have a great weekend.

This week’s redefinition from the alternative dictionary concerns the world’s richest mega-nerd and his penchant for peculiar names;
“Elongated” – The Musk family’s security compound.

For this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge I asked you to downsize, by giving you the prompt; On a small scale.
I decided to go on a miniature safari in the garden, finding a bumble bee on the bugle flowers, along with a snail and a spider lying in wait in the shed. I also built a new hedgehog house in the back corner of the border, which I think qualifies as a small scale log cabin.

Let’s see what details you managed to uncover over the weekend, it’s easy when you know how…

Yes, I have been at it again; playing with my sampler and mixing decks to produce a double layered, bespoke and completely original new mix. Combining pumping techno rhythms with wall of sound guitar feedback and metal riffs, I bring you Metalik, an epic masterpiece now available on Bandcamp.
You can listen for free and/or purchase the track for a piddling fee with the embedded player link below.
Rock on, my dudes.

For this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I’ve decided to cut everything down to size by making your prompt; On a small scale.
You are free to interpret that however you like and provide us with some interesting images to start the week. I hope you have a good weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday.

Today’s alternative definition describes a feeling of financial dread;
“Reposting” – The painful sensation produced by watching your car being towed away.

As promised, I’m here to premiere another new tune, which I was originally going to use as part of a project to remix The Cure‘s epic instrumental track, Carnage Visors.
This particular incarnation of the evolving composition proved unsuitable for the final version of the Cure mix, (about which, more later) but it seemed a waste to consign it to the digital scrapheap, so I added some atmospherics to the basic framework and voila!
