The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

For this edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge I asked you to illustrate the essence of the prompt; In the trees.

Despite hobbling around like a malfunctioning android, due to my back still having all the flexibility and resilience of a breadstick, I managed to get out a couple of times to capture either end of yesterday.

From sunrise over Landkey to twilight in the woods just down the road from home, here are my forest of photos, all of which contain at least one visible tree, no matter how distant…

…well, almost; the sunrise over the river was too nice to leave out.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Hello and congratulations on making it to 2021 for the first edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge in this new decade.

On Friday I asked you to come up with photos which illustrated the prompt; A cold start.

I have to admit that I cheated slightly, in that I’d already taken my photos when I set the theme, but I think that’s occasionally the host’s prerogative, isn’t it?

Anyway, here are my shots of a very cold start to the first day of the year, taken on a early morning drive and a brisk walk around the park; including a couple more from the deserted road bridges across the rivers Taw and Torridge.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Good morning, welcome to the limbo section in between Christmas and New Year when nobody knows what day it is.

One way you can tell it’s Monday however, is because it’s time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge and following my prompt on Friday, that means it’s time to; Show us your Christmas.

The most photogenic thing I encountered on Christmas morning was the sunrise, so I got as many shots of it as I could, while driving to and from Bideford along the Atlantic Highway; stopping on the once more deserted road bridges to take pictures of the Taw and Torridge rivers at low tide.

I also used a long exposure to capture passing headlights in the darkness, drained all the colour from the bottom half of one shot to accentuate the vivid hues in the sky and got a nice panoramic picture of sunrise over our neighborhood.

I took quite a few shots I didn’t have room for here, but you can see the entire gallery in all its glory over on my photo blog, Images From An Internet Nobody.

Oh, and then there was Audrey, trying to wear all her Christmas presents at once.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Happy Christmas, one and all, I hope your day has gone according to plan so far and that you’ve managed to make the best of this unique situation that we all find ourselves in.

One thing that stays as unchanged as a broken clock however, is The Cosmic Photo Challenge and it’s time for me to give you your prompt for Monday’s post.

It’s an obvious one, given the day on which it falls, I’m simply asking for you to; Show us your Christmas.

Y’all know the drill by now, I’m sure, but for any new challengers I’ll just say that how you interpret the theme of each prompt is entirely up to you and there are no wrong answers.

So after the post-dinner lethargy wears off, try capture your festive season for us and I’ll see you on the other side.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Hello there, I hope your weekend is going well and, if your festive break from work began yesterday, happy holidays to you, too.

As I previously mentioned, this week’s edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge is going to be focussing on your favourite shots of the year, with a prompt I’m calling; Cream of the crop.

Anything you captured in 2020 is fair game, but apart from that you have carte blanche to do whatever you wish with your images and I look forward to seeing what you choose to showcase for us.

It doesn’t matter if you have submitted your pictures to the challenge already this year, it’s all about what you consider to be your finest photographic moments.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

My initial plan was to see what Christmas baubles might look like with some of my recent shots in, like this…

…which is very lovely of course, but because I’m me, that idea soon morphed into this…

After which, I got rather…involved, shall we say, resulting in this surreal little animated spectacular.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Another weekend flies by and here we are, back at Monday morning.

But never fear, The Cosmic Photo Challenge is here to brighten your day with some organic aesthetics, derived from the prompt; Art from nature.

I used recent images captured in the woods, a nice sunset and my perfectly natural face, to create some arboreal-inspired artworks.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Rather daringly, I set the theme for The Cosmic Photo Challenge this week with hopes that the English weather would cooperate and gave you the prompt; Low light.

If I had been imagining nice twilight shots of dusky sunsets and the gauzy loveliness of early morning mist, I would have been disappointed. But I’m a realist, so it didn’t surprise me at all when I left the house yesterday afternoon at 4 and it immediately started to rain.

But I was out by then, so I took a soggy stroll along the river in the park and managed to capture a few half decent images of a grey winter’s day.

Of course, by the time I got home it had stopped raining, so when it was properly dark I did some mucking about, using long exposures and the mood lighting in the garden.

*Edit: Because it annoys me that the weather was typically pleasant today, now we’re all back at work, here are the sort of photos I was hoping to capture yesterday, from earlier this evening. ;~}

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

On Friday for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I asked you to provide your own interpretation of my inspiration; Vertical.

I have taken a very loose guide from the prompt; capturing images on a short walk yesterday morning which are either of vertical things, from vertical things, or at a vertical angle, plus a bit of creative mucking about.

Walls, walking, fences, bridges, hedges and selfies, it’s amazing what you can squeeze out of a simple one word theme.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week on The Cosmic Photo Challenge we are aiming to capture the world; As summer* fades.

I chose to wait until yesterday morning to go out seeking inspiration, returning to Fremington Quay, this time at low tide, to take some photos on the river’s edge and along the Tarka Trail cycle path.
