Cosmic Photo prompt.

I do apologise, even for me this is a late prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, so let’s make it a quick one; A room with a view.

Spin that however you wish and come back to show us all what you captured on Monday. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the other side.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Hi there, welcome to Monday and also to The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week is all about what happens when you; Drain the colours.

I chose to showcase the *lack of* beautiful colours of some of the flowers in the garden.

But before that…

…I have been posting my challenge photos on Photo Sans Frontieres on Facebook, where I have recently encouraged group members to get involved. Well I am happy to say that this week I can include a fabulous shot of a cast-off dragonfly skin (known as the exuvia) from new member, Clive Wilson.

Now let’s see your monochromatic offerings…

Sunday night megamix.

Another in my continuing series of elongated techno mixes, all created from scratch with my sampling/sequencing/mixing apps and available for your listening and purchasing convenience via the player below.

Turn it up and annoy the neighbours.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Hello all, I hope your Saturday has been pleasant so far, even if the temperature has dropped somewhat overnight like it has here.

For this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge I would like you to capture the brightest, most vivid subjects you can find and then; Drain the colours.

That’s right, strange as it may seem, I want to see some colour in black and white. Convert those hues and pigments into shades of grey and let’s see what creative ideas you come up with.

I’ll leave it up to you to interpret the fine details, enjoy the rest of the weekend and I look forward to seeing the results on Monday.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

It was a very fortuitous theme I picked for The Cosmic Photo Challenge this week, since the only place the temperature was bearable over the weekend was; In the trees.

I took Audrey down to Rock Park to meet her friends yesterday morning, taking the opportunity to capture some greenery at the same time as enjoying the much-needed shade. (The somewhat vertiginous effect of a few shots is due to the use of a wide angle lens)

Now let’s see what arboreal delights you found for us to marvel at…

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Just about made it for a Friday prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge and it looks like it’s going to be a nice weekend, so for this week’s theme I’ll see you; In the trees.

Let’s all (safely) get out in the sunshine and capture the best nature has to offer in the leaf and branch department, then meet back here on Monday to compare photographic notes, ok?

Midweek musical multimedia masterpiece.

After dabbling in drum and bass for the first time the other day and being pretty impressed with the results, I spent a good chunk of the weekend creating an extended and quite complex mix of a tune I’d begun earlier last week.

The original track was a lot shorter, but by the time I’d composed a completely new one to combine it with, the final edit clocked in at just over 18 minutes, making it more of a 12″ megamix.

Anyway, I hope you like the outcome of my latest musical adventure, which you can listen to via the embedded Bandcamp player. You can also watch the slightly shortened HD video HERE on my Instagram page, or at the lower resolution* YouTube link below.

*YouTube is rather irritatingly refusing to upload high quality video at the moment, so apologies for that.

**edit: You should now be able to view the above video in glorious 720p definition, since YouTube seem to have got their collective shit together.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

For your mission on The Cosmic Photo Challenge this week, I asked you to provide images based on the theme of; Reflections.

The reason I chose this prompt was because I had the dubious pleasure of putting together a large and complicated self-assembly wardrobe in Audrey’s fairly small bedroom last week, which features two equally large mirrored sliding doors.

Anyway, having spent all that time and effort (and swearing) building the thing, I thought I may as well take advantage of the new wall of mirrors to capture some interesting pictures.

Using Audrey’s various small make-up mirrors and her fancy mood lighting, I managed to create some agreeably head-scratching optical puzzles with my one phone and no editing,

Did the weekend catch you in reflective mood, show us your results, don’t be shy…
