Cosmic photo prompt.

Welcome back to the prompt section of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, in which I shall provide your inspirational theme for Monday’s photographic extravaganza.

More and more of us are having to remain on our own properties at the moment, if not completely indoors, so I will continue to give you prompts with very broad ranges of subject matter. This week I’m asking you to be true to a hue and; Pick a colour.

Yes, you can post photos of whatever you damn well like, just as long as all of your contributions conform to the same spectral position.

Let’s say three images minimum this week, since we all have a bit more time on our hands. That gives you shades to play with, too, within your main colour choice.

So get playful with the pigmentation and creative with the colourisation for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, it’s a piece of cake when you know how…

Return of the Melodic Randomiser: Isolation Radio.

If you have had the misfortune dedication and good taste to have been following my eclectic scribblings for a few years, you might remember a recurring strand called The Melodic Randomiser. This was a feature wherein I shuffled my extensive music collection to bring you unplanned playlists with, whenever possible, their accompanying videos.

Since we all have so much extra time on our hands at the moment, I thought it a good time to resurrect the Randomiser once more.

This time the medium is digital, the jukebox is my old phone with 3,419 tracks on its memory card and I am picking the first track by blind scrolling, followed by whatever the next two tracks Poweramp’s shuffle throws up each day.

Here goes…

…the first tune to stop under my prodding fingertip is a song from the self-titled 2019 album by International Teachers of Pop, (which owes no small debt to Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk); here is “Age of the Train”.

Now, as Monty Python once memorably said, for something completely different, swapping electropop for the emo punk of My Chemical Romance and the short and to the point “Teenagers”, from their excellent album, The Black Parade.

Last, equally brief but most definitely not least, we have cultural magpie and all round musical genius, David Byrne and Talking Heads, with a track from their debut, Talking Heads ’77, an album I have owned on vinyl, cassette, CD and now mp3; “Who is it?”

I’ll be back tomorrow with more tunes to help soundtrack our communal enforced staycation, so until then, look after yourselves and each other.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Sorry I’m late posting today’s installment of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, it must be the upcoming zombie apocalypse making me forgetful.

I gave you the prompt of Inside on Friday, since we’re all spending a lot of time involuntarily incarcerated at the moment, but I did manage to get out in the garden during yesterday’s sunny weather.

The inside of a fritillary, an obelisk covered in clematis, an internal view of a bamboo clump and the sky outside on the inside of my coffee cup…

Cosmic photo prompt.

In the strange times we are currently living through, I thought it appropriate to make the prompt for this week’s edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge something we’re all going be seeing a lot of for the foreseeable future; Inside.

This doesn’t have to be indoors, necessarily, if you are fortunate enough to be able to get out and about safely. But your contributions should feature the inside of something, whether it’s in the great outdoors or not.

I sincerely hope you’re all keeping yourselves and those around you safe and well. Be good to each other and look after the vulnerable where it’s possible, and I’ll see you back here for our usual, contact-free meeting of like minds on Monday.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

For this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I asked you to go small, with the prompt; Macro.

This was mainly because I wanted to try out the closeup abilities of the improved camera on my new phone, so I just used the first small, interesting objects I found in the living room.

These happened to be in a jar of shells and interesting stones which have been collected over the years, including some pyrite and a petoskey stone Audrey brought from Michigan.

Now let’s have a look at your small objects of desire.

Ok, I admit it, Saturday is the new Friday, at least as far as me coming up with a theme for The Cosmic Photo Challenge is concerned and today I have chosen to go with a small idea; Macro.

The tinier the better this week, so get close to your subject matter and show us some fine detail in your images.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Monday, the day I show you mine and y’all show me yours, in The Cosmic Photo Challenge, for which I provided the following prompt; Spring has sprung.

Dodging the intermittent bad weather, Audrey and I took two walks at the weekend, one along the River Taw and one down a short stretch of the smaller Yeo valley where the river runs through the woods.
