It’s a pretty black and white affair this week on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, since the theme I picked was; Monochrome.
I thought I’d see what it would be like if I took black and white photos of something which I would usually be taking specifically for their colour; in this case, the garden, with a few bits of local architecture to add variety.
It’s amazing how the removal of colour helps you focus on the small details and contrasting textures, it was an interesting experiment.
K’lee will be throwing some shades of grey HERE and HERE.
Now it’s your turn to get monochromatic, you know how to do it…
*****
To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, (or just, you know, whenever) add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.
Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.
Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Some of the flowers work well in monochrome.

Like them all, but I’m really feeling the building shots this go around. Excellent work, dude, as always.

All the shapes stand out nicely in black and white, like etchings, especially the urban areas.

Yes, I thought some of them looked like etchings or wood block prints.
