K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Friday’s prompt for this edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge was inspired by one particular image but, as usual, my mind wandered and another idea took up far more time.

The theme I chose was fairly simple; Natural patterns, prompted by some strange shapes on the side of Rhonda’s bbq charcoal starter…

…which, after it had cooled, looked like this;

There was this leaf-within-a-leaf pattern on some ivy…

…and the pattern of sunlight through these branches;

Which was gave me an idea.

I thought I could show the almost fractal patterns created by leaves and light in a more…abstract and interesting way. So I converted the photo to harsh black and white, then slowly raised the contrast a bit at a time, until I had nearly fifty versions of the same image, which I ran through my gif maker.

K’lee will show us his natural talent with patterns HERE.

But now you can take the opportunity to stun us with your Monday creativity.

*****

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.

Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.

Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

  1. As always, a great selection! Really like the ‘solar patterns’ of the first two from the grill. Very cool, dude.
