It occurred to me I don’t know what “nonplus” is supposed to me. Your alternate definition sounds like the one to use.

I think “not bothered” is nearest to the definition in common usage, but I’m sure that can’t be right, this version is far too obvious.

Although this is the exact opposite to the “original” meaning, which could be defined as “puzzled/bewildered”
