I hope the landlord will at least check up on them randomly. That would be the smart thing for him to do. Sorry he was such a jerk.

That’s unlikely, I’ve never seen him here. He lives twenty miles away and seems to consider the flat a cash machine and nothing else.

From the landlord’s perspective the time might be right when they stop paying rent. I hope things work out.
