My turn to choose the theme for this week’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge and I’ve decided to go for something we all have in common, (as do a lot of other things, like; custard, potatoes, tomatoes, divers and teeth) because today’s prompt is; Skin.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Sorry I’m so late for this week’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I had rather a late night last night and slept in this morning.

I also had a very long day on Saturday, (details to follow) from which I have taken today’s photos, tenuously linked to K’lee’s prompt; Textures x3.

I had every intention of finding inspiration over the weekend, but I had to cram an awful lot in and time just got away from me.

So I’m going to use three textures of sky to meet today’s brief; two taken on the motorway (dash-mounted camera, safety fans) and one in the garden of the friend we visited; from grey and decidedly unpleasant, to the blue promise of better weather on the way, to the soft and warm colours of dusk.

K’lee’s usual visual flair is showcased in his post HERE and I will shortly return with the whole story from Saturday, but now it’s your chance to shine…

This weeks edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge is brought to you by K’lee and his prompt; Textures x 3.

I’ll let him explain…

“I know. Some of you may be asking yourselves, ‘what does he mean by that?’ To which I’d say, the challenge this week is intended to get you thinking of TEXTURES, but make it three different types! Those three textures can literally be anything you want: wood, a flower petal, a building’s steel girder, absolutely anything.”

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today’s theme for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge was set by me and gave plenty of scope for photographic subjects; Downtown.

I chose to snap some pictures of an old section of Barnstaple, the narrow cobbled lanes around a church in the centre of town.

Here, also, are the alms houses and a tea room which used to be a school for the poor. (I’ve included a better view of the sign above each door)

Another Saturday, another vaguely topical theme, this time to tie in with the insanity of Black Friday.

It happens that today is the third anniversary of Rhonda and Audrey arriving in the country to begin our lives together, so I thought I’d compile some of my favourite portraits of them, to show how grateful I am to have them here.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Yes, I know it’s very late, but K’lee didn’t post until last night on the other side of the pond (timezones are not kind to the tardy) so I didn’t see it until this morning.

The theme appears to be based on that most American of holidays, Thanksgiving, which must be this week sometime, so your prompt is; Gratitude.

I’ll leave you to interpret that in whatever creative ways you like.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

A new week brings a new batch of pictures in K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week with a prompt chosen by me; Man made meets Mother Nature.

I went looking for inspiration along the river, picking the imposing industrial forms of the electricity pylons as a theme and finding a few other examples of manufactured objects living, with greater or lesser success, in the wild:

Then I was struck by the artistic possibilities of the pylons’ geometric designs and made these two rather pretty composite images to round off today’s post.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

It’s my turn to set the theme for Monday’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, so here is your prompt; Man-made meets Mother Nature.

However you want to interpret that is entirely up to you, but I’d like to see some organic/industrial juxtaposition of some sort in your photos, if at all possible.

So grab your camera and capture some construction in the countryside, a factory full of foliage or some saplings in the city; the choice, as always, is yours.

Time to get spooky with this week’s theme for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, as K’lee chose; Things that go bump in the night as your Friday prompt.

I thought I’d go traditional, after accompanying Audrey and her friends on a Trick or Treat tour of the neighbourhood…

…by making a movie poster from the scary Jack o’ lantern Rhonda carved for our doorstep.
