Today’s alternative definition is fairly straightforward and not terribly funny, but it was too obvious not to use;
“Mendacity” – Urban redevelopment.

On today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge we’re all out of focus, due to my prompt on Friday being; In a blur.
I had no particular idea in mind when I set the theme, it just popped into my head, but Audrey came to the rescue once again, by insisting (no, really, she did) that we go to the pub to play pool on Saturday. This provided me with a lovely shot of her sending the cue ball zooming down the table towards me, complete with requisite motion blurring…

Then I rifled through the archives and found a couple more that fit the bill.

K’lee will show you his unclear contribution HERE.
Now you can show us your imperfectly focused images.

After last week’s total lack of meteorological cooperation for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, it has of course been bucketing down with rain this morning, so I’m not going to pick anything weather-dependent for the theme today.
Instead I’m going to leave it almost completely wide open and simply request that, when you are seeking photographic inspiration, you bear in mind the prompt; In a blur.
So get unfocused, get creative, or maybe you’ll just find a home for one of those shaky holiday snaps you’d forgotten you still had.
Anything is open to interpretation on the cosmic photo challenge, so why not have a go.

Today’s journey into the world of alternative definitions has a bit of a regal tone;
“Principals” – Friends in the Royal Family.

I thought I’d got today’s post locked down, when K’lee posted his prompt for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge on Friday. He chose a theme which should have given me ample opportunity for inspiration, what with being in England in wintertime.
But as usual, the weather didn’t play fair and totally failed to provide me with a single chance to capture; The spirit of rain.
However, I have an abundance of old skyscapes, so I picked some of my favourites with which to illustrate K’lee’s concept and here’s a selection of clouds and fog banks, with a rainbow thrown in for good measure.

K’lee will shower you with images HERE.
But now it’s your turn to rain supreme.

Hello there and welcome to my American counterpart, K’lee’s, first prompt of the year on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, for which he has chosen a very British theme; The spirit of rain.
As ever, feel free to add your own spin to our inspiration and try to stay dry until we see you on Monday.
Here’s how to do it…

I almost forgot it was Wednesday again, hence the last minute entry in the alternative dictionary this week. Today it’s a very specific fashion faux pas that gets its own definition;
“Cacti” – Unattractive neckwear.

Welcome to the first post of the year in K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, with my choice of theme this week; Upside down.
I have taken that idea literally and turned my photos the “wrong” way up.
For possibly the third or fourth time on the challenge, our living room ceiling lights caught my attention, this time because of their possible use when inverted.
How about a stick man standing under a street light?

Then Audrey volunteered herself as a model and we created this hair-raising portrait…

…but then things got a bit, well, twisted.

K’lee’s post turns another world over for you, HERE.
Meanwhile, it’s time for your first flipped snaps of the year, so let’s see ’em…

Ok, I think we’re suffering from new year confusion this week on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, but we’ll be right back with it next week, I promise.
I am taking on the role of prompt master again today, because of a little communication breakdown with my transatlantic pal, K’lee, (probably my fault) after we both posted last week…so your theme is; Upside down.
No, I have no preconceived ideas about this either, so we can all find inspiration together.
Apologies for the lack of notice, you’ll just have to wing it again. See you Monday for the first challenge of 2019.

The first one liner Wednesday of the year and nothing has changed, it’s still the place to find your weekly entries in the alternative dictionary. Today it’s another unfortunate medical complaint;
“Poppycock” – Impotence suffered by opiate addicts.
