The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Monday comes around so fast, but never fear, The Cosmic Photo Challenge is here to brighten the start of your week with the theme of; Our feathered friends.

The birds didn’t seem to be taking the challenge seriously, though, when I walked along the river in the park yesterday.

Usually thronging with gulls and ducks, the only ones on the water were a flock of geese and they wouldn’t do me the decency of coming close enough for a good shot.

Then when I did manage to capture a suitable avian subject, they seemed intent on camouflaging themselves.

There is a gull in this shot, for example…

…and a pigeon in this one…

…but you’d never know it to start with.

So I resorted to using a few shots of the gull family at work, whose lives I have been chronicling on Facebook for a few weeks.

What did you catch on the fly at the weekend?

Don’t be shy, let us all enjoy your pictures, it’s as easy as 1,2,3…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today’s theme on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge was chosen by K’lee and his prompt was perfect for me, as I have a huge number of pictures which fit the description of; Wings across the skies.

The weekend weather was so utterly lousy; any suitably avian subjects were probably trying to find a perch to cling onto, far too busy to pose for photos.

So I picked a couple of archive images which I liked and made an “artistic” one, too. See what you think.

See what flights of fancy K’lee has dreamed up, HERE, later.

But for now, let’s see what ornithological optical offerings you organised for us…

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Monday morning means K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, with the prompt this week chosen by K’lee; Free like a bird.

Well, I sat in the garden most of the day yesterday, but the local bird population was less than cooperative. However, there was one garden resident who I did manage to capture, so here is my selection; Free as a…squirrel.

I spotted the little grey critter on the fence…

…then he spotted me…

…which seemed to startle him into action…

…and he was gone.

As for the birds, here are a few from the archives.

See just how high K’lee soars with his post, HERE, it’s spectacular.

Now you can show us your flights of photographic fancy.
