K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Another week is upon us, meaning it’s time for another episode in the continuing saga of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week chaired by K’lee, who left us this multifaceted prompt; The beauty of wood, the gleam of metal and the reflection of glass.

That was quite a head-scratcher, I can tell you, at least it was until yesterday afternoon, when I spotted the perfect candidate for the metal and glass portion of the challenge; a copper window decoration with a blue glass ball in the centre, given to me by my sister many years ago.

And for the wooden element?

Well, Audrey and I went down to the park after lunch, where I found plenty of inspiration in the varying textures of tree bark and a nicely weathered fence post.

And to round off this post of threes, here is my third offering, a gif of my sister’s gift, a gift-gif, if you will.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I set the theme for today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, knowing that I was getting up early for work yesterday and hoping I could capture something to do justice to the prompt; Break of day.

Well I wasn’t disappointed, because there was some suitably atmospheric fog adorning the Devon countryside on my drive home; with the imposing Castle Hill house and gardens, (Fortescue family seat, currently home to Lady Arran) providing a dramatic landmark amongst the rolling hills and ancient trees.

It certainly is worth getting up early sometimes, when the world is still waking up, you get to witness nature at its best.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Only two days to go, so you’d better get out and buy your significant other a card, some chocolates and/or some flowers, because Valentine’s Day is almost upon us.

Which explains the theme to today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, set this week by K’lee, romantic fool that he is; The look of love.

It really didn’t take me any time at all to decide on the photo to use, since it so precisely meets the brief; an edited version of a blissful selfie of Rhonda and I, the day we first met in person, back in 2014. Along with a shot of Rhonda and Audrey having a thumb war, where their expressions speak for themselves.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

K’lee has chosen the theme for this week’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, going with the most topical prompt, to tie in with the upcoming Valentine’s day celebrations; The look of love.

Now, I’ve already thought of at least one photo to use, but I shall still be seeking further inspiration over the weekend.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I set the theme for today’s post on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, choosing to give you open licence to show us some reasons to be cheerful.

I didn’t have anything particular in mind and, after Saturday being such a success, it was nice to just slob around at home while the ladies pampered themselves for the day.

I could post a picture of my lovely new phone or the excellent new wireless headphones I spent much of the day listening to, but neither of those things make me anywhere near as cheerful as knowing my wife and daughter are now able to renew their visas. Meaning my offerings are not so much based on photographic proficiency or spectacular effects this week, but they stick very closely to the brief.

In honour of the Superbowl, (which I don’t watch and which only interests me because of the food involved) here is a photo of the amazing dinner Rhonda prepared last night; chicken fried steak and gravy with mashed potato and “Texas toast” (just out of shot)…

…followed by a sight that can’t fail to cheer anyone up, Audrey jigging about to a YouTube video in her “floofy” pajamas.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Good grief, is it Monday already?

It doesn’t seem like we had a weekend, but I suppose we must have done. Perhaps weekends are merely a legend or a myth, which would fit in rather nicely with the theme for today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, because K’lee set this week’s prompt; Mythological.

That was quite a challenge (but then that’s the point, obviously) and I had to resort to plundering the archives for some inspiration.

I decided on these four images, which I think have a suitably mythical flavour, see what you think.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

With the beginning of a new week comes a new prompt from K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week chosen by me; At the end of the day.

I took a fairly straightforward approach this week, illustrating what happens when you live surrounded by rivers at the end of a day (or two) of constant rain.

These were taken at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon, just before it got slightly darker than it had been for most of the day.
