K’lee picked the theme this week and he went for the antithesis of my monochromatic prompt from last weekend and gave us; Cosmically created colour.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying a pleasant bank holiday Monday (if you get one, that is) or are at least having a successful start to the working week.

I set the theme for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge this week and I decided to go for the obvious topical prompt, with a monochromatic twist; Easter in black and white.

For today’s challenge, Audrey wanted to get involved, only fair when you realise it was her Easter gifts that are the stars of the post.

So here are a couple of shots from yesterday’s celebrations, with Audrey providing the peculiar facial poses (I think the second one is a rabbit impression, to match the chocolate truffle carrots she had for breakfast)…

…along with these two little clips (yes I know, they’re in colour, sorry) we made using the STIKBOT figures and app which Audrey got for Easter.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Oh, it’s Saturday! Blimey, where did the week go? I think working overtime when everyone else had finished for the the holiday has fried my internal calendar, I’d completely forgotten about the prompt for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge on Monday.

But I got here eventually and your theme for this week is; Black and white Easter.

Hmmm, interesting, yes?

I don’t know, it just came to me in a monochromatic flash of inspiration, so I’m starting from scratch on this one, too.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Hello again, welcome to a new week, with all the light and shade it will bring, starting with today’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, the prompt for which was chosen by K’lee; Notions of shadow and light.

I chose to seek inspiration in our flat and out in the garden, just to see if I could find suitable subjects in such a limited space.

From the garden I harvested these three images; the tangled white bones of a clematis, where the shadow and actual plant are almost indistinguishable against the shed…

…the snake-like shadow of an ornamental solar light…

…and the striped pattern formed by the sun shining through the tines of a rake.

Indoors, though, that was where I spotted my favourite bit of shadow play, which I christened “When the reflection escapes the mirror”.

The original looked so good that I updated it from a slightly more artistic angle, by which time the plant (a dahlia, which was lifted from the garden and has spent the winter inside in the warm, only sprouting new shoots the other day) had grown somewhat.

Well, you didn’t expect to get two on-time prompts in a row, did you?

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Time to start the week with K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, although not in quite the same way I originally had in mind.

It looks like I might have spoken too soon when I set the prompt; A hint of Spring, because the snow returned in full force at the weekend, covering all the newly-bloomed Spring flowers in the garden and carried on right through until Sunday night.

The gnome house had a new roof and the daffodils looked a bit worse for wear…

…but I thought even their wilting blooms could add a suitable splash of colour to some artistic creations I made from the snow covered trees that overhang the garden.

After all that digital mucking about, I got absorbed in the creative process and ended up making several more, two of which appear here.

Monday rolls round again, bringing with it the weekly burst of creativity that is K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week provided by K’lee and his prompt; Simply Surrealistic.

Well I was very happy to see K’lee’s post on Saturday, because there’s nothing I like more than a bit of weekend image manipulation, especially if it’s to make something strange.

The stranger the better, in fact.

So I took a photo of myself…

For this week’s prompt on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, chosen by K’lee, we are asking for something slightly strange.

I don’t mean the request is unusual, but the theme K’lee has picked is, in itself, not normal, because your mission for Monday’s post is to give us something; Simply Surrealistic.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Each new week brings a new theme on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, with this one chosen by me; Indoor plants.

I thought I’d go fairly straightforward, but with an artistic twist; capturing the structural forms, rich colours and intricate markings of the few foliage festooned friends we share our home with.

The hairy, deep green and purple leaves of the African violet…

…the glossier, exotic shapes of lilies, ferns and a spiky dragon tree, sharing a pot in horticultural harmony…

…a coleus cutting, living out the winter on the kitchen windowsill and an aloe vera with its variegated companion.

I bet K’lee has some great shots to show you HERE.
