Cosmic Photo prompt.

Welcome to Friday’s regular prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, providing your inspiration for Monday’s show and tell post.

In another attempt at keeping it non-specific yet themed, to account for the current global socialising peculiarities, I’m giving you the task of capturing whatever you consider to be; My Summer space.

Not my space, you understand, that would be difficult and…a little creepy, but wherever you will be/would like to be spending your days of Summer.

Obviously gardens spring to mind, but I’m aware a lot of you may not have that luxury and might be dependent on other outside spaces, or may even be trapped indoors completely, so hopefully it’s inclusive enough for everyone.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

A very good morning to you, wherever and whenever you may be reading this and welcome to another Monday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, prompted this week by my suggestion that your photos are taken; From an unusual angle.

I wasn’t sure what direction I was going to take for this, but I saw a nice idea for a collage on a Facebook photography group on Saturday and was inspired to make this…

…wherein three of the sunsets are always at an unusual angle, whichever way up it is.

But that’s not really in the spirit of photos taken from the requisite obtuse perspective; so it occurred to me that this accidental selfie, edited after I took it the other day, holding my phone whilst standing in a socially distanced supermarket queue, might qualify instead…

Having said that, I thought I should still make an effort to actively attempt to capture something in an unconventional or indirect way, so this happened…

Cosmic Photo prompt.

For the Cosmic Photo Challenge on Monday, I’d like to return to an old favourite to inspire your creative outpourings; From an unusual angle.

This gives you infinite scope for photographic subjects, (provided they fall within current social distancing guidelines, obviously) allowing your imagination to run wild while giving us some visual puzzles into the bargain.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Hello there, I’m told it’s Monday, which must mean it’s time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge and a hearty plateful of Food as art.

I chose to go with a single image this week, nutritiously constructed in the kitchen from strawberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and French beans; here’s my field of fruit and veg flowers.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

I’m going to take a guess and say it’s Friday today, meaning that it’s time for your weekly prod in the direction of creativity for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Right then, I have to come up with another suitable theme to inspire a locked down population…hmmmm, how about; Food as art.

Yeah, that seems like something which gives everyone an opportunity to compete on a level playing field (an indoor one, of course).

So cook up something tasty for us over the weekend and bring your offerings up to the high table on Monday.

For today’s apaturial adventure, I asked you to come up with something for The Cosmic Photo Challenge which featured something Symmetrical.

Well, not being able to get out and about much, I spent time making a few imaginary buildings and pictures with a mirrored element to them.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Today’s prompt for the Cosmic Photo Challenge is one with plenty of room for interpretation; Symmetrical.

There, it couldn’t be much simpler than that, could it?

So as long as your photos for Monday’s post exhibit some kind of symmetry, then they qualify; whether it’s organic, manmade, geometric, architectural, naturalistic or artistic, it matters not one jot.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

On Friday I asked you to consider the birds and bees as your homework for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge and I chose to go on miniature safari in the garden.

I’d been wanting to try out the macro abilities of my new camera for a while and the buzzing of insects in the sunshine gave me the perfect excuse. I staked out the daffodils and spikes of purple bugle flowers and took a few shots of the inhabitants, until a compliant and extremely fuzzy bumble came along and I followed his progress until he fell asleep, nonchalantly dangling by one leg, snoring gently.

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Time for your weekend stay-at-homework, with this week’s prompt on the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Since we’re largely confined to quarters for the foreseeable future, but the weather (here in the UK, anyway) has been so superb, I thought I’d go with something we can all find in our gardens, or at least our immediate vicinity; The birds and the bees.

I know we’ve had this theme before, but as I believe I said then, with all the varieties of our feathered friends and with all bees, bugs and creepy crawlies allowed, you have huge scope for subject matter.

So scour your gardens, window boxes, courtyards, rooftops and balconies and bring us some flighty sights to start next week.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Another lazy Monday in the strange, dystopian limbo that is global lockdown and The Cosmic Photo Challenge is here, to brighten your day and take your mind off all the bad news for a few minutes.

Here’s what I came up with after Friday’s prompt suggested we take this week’s photos; Through an opening.

The current isolation measures mean not having any outside space in which to relax would make life almost unbearable, so we’re increasingly grateful for the little oasis of calm in our crazy (and suddenly very small) world.

And that’s where I took my inspiration from yesterday, while sitting in the sunshine of the garden; looking out into the garden, from inside the house at night and capturing the sunshine from inside the shed; looking at the garden, unusually framed in the openings of Audrey’s bedroom window, looking down into a glass candle holder, looking into the entrance of a tiny birdhouse, seeing the nest materials within and looking out at myself through the openings in the clematis’ obelisk-shaped growing frame.

So that’s the opening salvo in this week’s challenge, let’s have a look at what you lot’ve got for us…
