K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

Welcome to metallic Monday on K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I chose the theme for this week’s challenge on Friday and it was simply this; Metal.

Whatever metallic materials you wish to use for your photographic subject are acceptable; shiny, rusty, intricate, industrial, sculpted, molten, anything you like, as long as it’s metal.

I went the lightweight route, using aluminum foil in varying stages of scrunchiness, under different light sources and with a selection of coloured surfaces to reflect from, to create these artistic images.

K’lee’s photo for today can now be found HERE.

Now, it’s your turn.

*****

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.

Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.
Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Cosmic Photo prompt…

image

It’s Friday, so it’s prompt day for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week, (and in two weeks time) we are teaming up with Bee, over at Just Fooling Around With Bee, for Food is in Da Blog, to provide her with artistic photographic interpretation.

This week, the prompt is simply this; Tomato.

Anything on the theme of this often mis-identified fruit is appropriate for the challenge, so get your photo thinking caps on and get creative for Monday’s edition.

K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

image

Yes, I’m afraid it’s Monday again, but look on the bright side; Monday means it’s time for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, today brought to you by the prompt, Architecture.

I was very gratified to see there was already a post waiting for me when I woke up this morning, and from a new participant, too! (You can check out Marie’s entry here.)
So I thought I’d make sure mine was posted early, giving you plenty of time to find inspiration.

You should know by now that I often like to go the abstract route with my challenge, this week’s being no exception.
I decided to go for an industrial look today, using this original photo of the skylights in the roof at work, taken at six this morning…

…and mucking about with it, until I arrived at this selection of strangely organic constructions;

Cosmic Photo prompt…

Time for your weekly prompt, to inspire you to participate in K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week chosen by me and featuring a subject that I have already had fun with in the past; Architecture.

Whatever creative spin you care to put on the theme of buildings, doorways, roofs, chimneys, in fact anything related to architectural features, that’s the order of the day for Monday’s post.

So get out your cameras and go and find something to capture, in the name of turning photography into art.

Cosmic Photo prompt…

It’s time for your weekly prompt, to give you creative ideas for next Monday’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week, it’s K’lee’s turn to inspire us and he’s come up with this hot topic;

”  ‘The Quest For Fire’. There it is.
You can translate, create, or otherwise consider anything you want as it pertains to FIRE for this challenge…you can use barbecues, fireworks, or other sources of fire (responsibly!) in your, um, ‘quest’ to enter this challenge. It’s completely up to you. “

Nice one, K’lee, I think that provides quite a lot of creative scope for interpretation.

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.
Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.

Cosmic Photo prompt…

image

For next Monday’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, it’s my turn to pick a theme and I’ve chosen to go with something that gives a bit more scope than just giving you a specific subject to play around with.

Because all I’m asking this week is that you get up close and personal with whatever you decide photograph; whether it’s plants, rocks, food, insects, faces, water, whatever you like, just make sure that your photo is a close up of your chosen subject.

However you want to achieve your intimate study; zooming, cropping, just holding the camera really really close to whatever you’re trying to capture, it doesn’t matter, as long as the final image features some type of artistic interpretation, something that renders it that little bit more than just a photograph.

I will also add a link to K’lee’s post, as he will do with mine, so you can go and see what he has to offer each week, too.

Friday is prompt day, so it’s time to give you your inspiration for Monday’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

It’s K’lee’s turn to set the theme this week and this is what he came up with;

“FAST CARS

This could be any type of fast car your imagination brings to the surface of your consciousness – you decide, you create…for the ‘K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge’ “

Hmm, interesting.

Ok then, you have your prompt, see you on Monday.
