K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge…

24 Apr

For this week’s installment of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, K’lee chose the theme and he suggested; Mirror mirror.

I decided to go for an artistic twist, using two different types of kaleidoscopic optical devices to capture some spangly images.

The first one is a homemade version of the conventional kaleidoscope; a tube containing two angled mirrors, with a glass tube of glitter and foil shapes at the end of it, which produced these…

…and the second one is of a similar design, except it has a domed lens on the end, giving multiple, fish eyed images of whatever you point it at.

Here is what it looks like when you point it at cauliflower and carrots, ceramic tiles and an LED display.

You can check out K’lee’s post HERE.

Now let’s see what you reflected on over the weekend.

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.

Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.
Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

    Fantastic stuff, dude! I’ll have to tell you my kaleidoscope childhood experience one of these days.

      That sounds intriguing. I had a few, but most of them were…psychedelic, shall we say. ;~}

        Lol! Okay! Mine actually had to do with dying and returning to life. Happy to still be here to talk about it!

        Wow! Death by kaleidoscope?

        The short story is I developed a massive fever as a kid. 106 degrees (F) not sure what that translates as Celsius… anyway, I remember floating in a dark room with a kaleidoscope spinning in front of me. I started drifting toward it with the sense I was dying when a voice boomed all around me, saying: CHOOSE! I woke up in a tub full of ice. That’s the story!

        Now you see why I can be so ‘ethereal’ at times?🌞
