Cosmic Photo prompt…

19 Aug

And so we come to the end of another week, which means that it’s time for your Friday prompt, to inspire you to create something artistically photographic for Monday morning.

For this week’s edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I get to pick the theme and I’m going to make it personal, by asking you to reveal yourselves to us.

Yes, Monday’s post is going to be all about that most 21st century of artforms; Selfies.

But obviously, you wonderfully creative and imaginative folks are going to show us something more than just the standard grinning headshot, because this feature is where photography and art collide.

So let’s have a look at you, in all your self-captured glory, it’ll be good to put some interestingly edited faces to names.

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal.

Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry.
Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Ramping up the challenge, huh? I like it. This one should prove interesting, but I wonder too because there are lots of folks who don’t enjoy doing selfies… only time will tell, I guess. Anyway, I know you’ll do something cool. Have a great weekend my friend!

One of those folks is me 🙂

Keep in mind though, you can be as creative as you want with it. It need not be ‘traditional’ selfie photography, there are far to many facets and layers in all of us for that…

I do take selfies…but as you say not in a traditional way. So I got some good ones, thankfully 😉

Around these parts, it can just about be classified as ‘epidemic’. I’ve seen more people walking around, completely oblivious to anyone or anything else except themselves and their selfie-taking camera (often attached to sticks?). I’m of the mind this is NOT a good look. My take on Dale choosing this prompt was to get people like you and me(by the way!) to think outside the box, doing it in a way we feel cool with. I’m looking forward to seeing what you choose to share.

Excellent, that’s what I like to hear.
And please post your link to the comments on Monday’s post, either instead of or as well as this one, that way more people will see it.

        I’ve done a whole post on “artistic” selfies before, so I’m looking forward to experimenting with a new look. ;~}

So, find an inventive way too obscure yourself…

Selfies don’t have to be too revealing…

This is true, but for some it can feel that way, I guess. I don’t know what I want to do yet, but I definitely want something original that’s born after today or tomorrow. We’ll see…
