Photo Sans Frontiers Showcase: Sand Carroll Trapp…

14 Apr

For today’s dip into the rapidly growing collection on my Photo Sans Frontiers Facebook page, I’m compiling some of my favourite pictures from one of the many Americans I met online when I first got sucked into social media a few years ago.

Sand Carroll Trapp, or just Trapp, as I was originally introduced to her, lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, surrounded by some truly spectacular scenery.
I have always appreciated her eye for picture composition and a certain timeless, moody quality to many of her photos, so I was delighted when she accepted the invitation to contribute to our group and also to allow me to repost a selection of her work here.

These are taken on her own property, as well as at McConnells Mill State Park and Moraine State Park, also in PA.

Some wonderfully evocative views of Trapp’s world, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Hopefully I’ll be able to feature more of her pictures in future posts.

Feel free to join us on Facebook.

She has some very awesome pics. I love the woods for the memories it brings back, of the woods behind our neighbor’s house . I spent many relaxing hours just looking at the trees, the daffodils and wild violets. I loved the smell of the creek that ran down the middle. touching the water as it ran through the woods wondering where it started and ended.

Thank you, I particularly love the black and white close ups, great contrasts.

Many of Trapp’s photos really do have a certain timeless, moody quality, I’d agree. Excellent composition and I really like the way she balances lights and shadows in the b/w photos. The sunset is awesome. The mill and the covered bridge over the water could be picture postcards. I also love the close up of the brown leaf and the billowing clouds over the water. I am especially partial to the photos of her handsome dog, Tank! Beautiful collection of pictures. Trapp is a wonderful photographer!
